On October 14, 2026, and October 17, 2026 Bank of America Plaza will light pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a powerful global movement dedicated to hope, education, and collective action. For millions of people worldwide, this month is a vital reminder to prioritize health through early detection and routine screenings, which save countless lives every day. It serves as a time to honor and remember those lost, celebrate the resilience of survivors, and stand in solidarity with individuals currently facing a diagnosis. It is a month focused on community and progress, driving the critical awareness and research funding needed to bring us closer to a future free from breast cancer

PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS AWARENESS DAY
– October 15, 2026, Bank of America Plaza will light pink and blue for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day is dedicated to honoring and remembering babies lost to miscarriage, stillbirth, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), or other causes. For grieving parents and families, this day provides a vital space for recognition and remembrance, validating a profound grief that is too often suffered in silence or misunderstood. It serves to break the stigma surrounding early loss, fostering an empathetic community where families can openly share their stories and find comfort. The day culminates globally in the "Wave of Light" at 7:00 PM local time, where people light candles for one hour to create a continuous, worldwide symbol of love, support, and enduring remembrance for every brief but deeply cherished life.

FITWEL CERTIFIED

As the world's leading certification system for building health, Fitwel advances a vision where all buildings and communities enhance occupant health and wellbeing. Developed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. General Services Administration, this certification recognizes Bank of America Plaza's commitment to health and wellness strategies that positively impact our building occupants.



UL VERIFIED

Metropolis also collaborated with UL as an early adopter of their new voluntary program for real estate owners who want to demonstrate their commitment to delivering healthy indoor environments through an extensive process of indoor air testing and assessment. Bank of America Plaza proudly received the UL Verified Healthy Building Marks for Indoor Air and Water – another significant milestone in our BeWell™ Promise.


LEED Safety First Credits

The USBGC launched its new LEED Safety First credits program in 2020 as part of its Healthy Economy Strategy to address concerns related to the pandemic and to assist with building re-entry. As a result, Bank of America Plaza proactively sought LEED Safety First credits, and the building has since earned credits for Cleaning and Disinfecting, which validate that the building’s best practices align with public health and industry guidelines.


LEED GOLD CERTIFICATION

Bank of America Plaza first became LEED Gold Certified in 2016, based on numerous initiatives that improved the building's efficiency, human environmental health, and sustainable site development, among other positives. The building has since maintained this certification through substantial investments in base building energy-efficient equipment and "green" operations.


Energy Star Partner

Metropolis Investment Holdings Inc. has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR® program as an ENERGY STAR® Partner. Being an ENERGY STAR® Partner is a mark of excellence and signifies our commitment to energy conservation and environmental stewardship. As an ENERGY STAR® Partner, we have joined a distinguished network of organizations that prioritize reducing energy consumption and lowering greenhouse gas emissions at all Metropolis assets including Bank of America Plaza. We believe this organization-wide initiative will contribute to a greener and more sustainable world for future generations.
